World Bank profile poverty in Malaysia

The World Bank have asked Martin to work with them and the Economic Policy Unit in the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Department to profile poverty among elderly Malaysians and to assist in the development of a potential new system of social pensions for Malaysia.

The project begins in April 2011 and involves in-depth analysis of data from the Household Income Survey in Malaysia for 2009. Martin will be joining World Bank and EPU colleagues for high level policy discussion and workshops in Kuala Lumpur.
